New York,Meat forest animals such as monkeys, bats and rodents consumed a lot of people. But should be careful to consume animal-free in the forest because there are findings of animal flesh contains a virus similar to HIV.

Demand for forest wildlife meat is high enough so that many are exported to developed countries. Forest animals imported meat is often preserved or smoked for entry into developed countries like the United States through the postal and shipping containers.

But from the results of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service meat was not safe.

Tests performed Wildlife Conservation Society and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) found that wild animals imported meat containing dangerous diseases monkey pox (monkey pox), the virus that causes SARS, and retroviruses like HIV.

This finding was quite surprising because if the meat is eaten can infect humans, especially diseases related to immunity.

CDC scientists said there were many cases of communicable disease from the consumption of this meat. Although the cooked food pathogens such as salmonella will die, but several diseases carried by animals do not die in the process of cooking.

The preliminary findings presented at the Rockefeller University in New York on Wednesday, April 14, 2010.

Scientists have found two strains of the virus simian foamy (monkey foamy) from three species of forest animal flesh, two Mangabey (a type of monkey) and one chimpanzee.

Richard Ruggiero, who worked at the International Bushmeat Issues for Fish and Wildlife Service, as reported by the Wall Street Journal Online, Friday (16/4/2010) says that animal meat is highly appreciated in some immigrant communities, especially among West African immigrants.
